Website Performance seems like this mysterious creature that you might not know much about. It doesn’t have to be that way. So, say you’ve launched your medi spa website a few years ago. You know you are getting calls and requests from customers from it but do you really know how it’s performing? Most medical spa owners we’ve talked to aren’t able to tell us. There are simple ways for you to know and I’ll walk you through it. Keep in mind that these are basic ways to know how your website is performing. We will be publishing an in depth guide later on.
#1 Visitors – You want to know how many visitors your website is receiving. Simply knowing how many visitors your website is receiving monthly is a great starting point. In order to know how many visitors your med spa website is receiving, you will want to have to have web analytics installed. Google offers free analytics software that can be easily installed. Once installed, it’s very easy to log in. Don’t be afraid to poke around as it’s the best way of learning.
#2 Search – Search Google, Yahoo and Bing for some of the keyword phrases you would like to rank for. Let’s say you’re looking to rank for “chemical peels in dallas”. Does your website show up? Check the first, second, third and last page. If you do see it, great! If you don’t, you know you do have some work to do. Don’t worry, these aren’t massive undertakings and the payoff can be huge.
#3 Traffic Sources – If you have Google Analytics installed, then you can check how web visitors are arriving to your website. A great website will have various referring websites. You would like to see that you are receiving traffic from Google, Yahoo, Bing, Facebook, Twitter and other sources. Because Google Analytics gets updated often, I can’t give you a step by step here but you should should be able to find it under Traffic Sources. Below is a helpful video from Google’s Analytics team on referral traffic. Good stuff.
