Allergan, one of the top leaders in aesthetics, has released the “first-of-its-kind medical aesthetics study”, detailing the most recent aesthetic trends. The report covers a variety of subjects and highlights many of the changes we have seen across the industry including an increase in millennial and male patients.
The Allergan 360° Aesthetics Report details an international survey of over 14,500 aesthetic patients and 1,300 medical professionals from 18 different countries. The report shows a marked increase in the type of patients practitioners are seeing as well as the type of procedures patients are seeking.
The study also highlighted the importance of marketing via digital channels, as it was found that over 82% of millennial patients were said to look to platforms like Instagram as a leading source for information regarding aesthetic procedures.
The report from the distributor of some of the top cosmetic treatments, including BOTOX and JUVÉDERM, reflects the most recent report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as treatments like neurotoxin injectables, soft tissue fillers, and non-invasive fat reduction continue to be on the rise.
As aesthetic treatments become more common and acceptable, many of the respondents to the survey reported wanting to pursue treatments to either maintain or rejuvenate their look. Furthermore, many respondents related their interest in aesthetic treatments to putting forward their best look in professional settings.
