Top Cosmetic Trends in 2019

For decades the cosmetic, and medical industry alike, have continued to evolve and increase in popularity, with latest advancements aiding in this growth as practitioners are able to provide procedures which can address a wider range of concerns with less downtime while still meeting patient expectations. The rise of social platforms, such as Snapchat and Instagram, have also contributed, as individuals wish to put their best face forward on social media. In the past few years patients have expressed a desire for cosmetic enhancements, such as noticeably fuller breast and lips, however, surgeons and practitioners are revealing the top cosmetic trends of 2019 are designed to produce less visible results, revealing a more natural look. As stated by Mary Lynn Moran, MD, Facial Plastic Surgeon of Nashville and the president-Elect of the AAFPRS, “The pendulum is swinging back to a more natural look. We will see less overfilling of cheeks and lips in the coming year.”

In 2019 the aesthetics industry can expect to see an increase in demand for micro-surgeries, such as 3D Face Lifts and Lip Lifts. The latter provides a permanent solution to patients who wish to alter the unwanted space between the top of the lips and the bottom of the nose, revealing a more natural, fuller appearance, while simultaneously adding definition to the cupid’s bow. In a similar sense, 3D Face Lifts increase facial volume and create a more natural, youthful appearance as opposed to a “tight” look; a concern which draws many patients away from aesthetic procedures.

Additional cosmetic treatments on the rise include the Hybrid Breast Job, which combines traditional implants with additional reshaping potentiality offered by fat transfer. In this sense, surgeons are equipped with the ability to sculpt more natural-looking breasts, allowing patients to receive a subtler look, as opposed to the previously favored alterations. In addition, the Hybrid Breast Job contains fewer risks and shortens recovery time.

The aesthetics industry is continually on the rise and the demand is expected to continue to grow as more and more potential patients are open to the idea of cosmetic procedures, both surgical and nonsurgical. The introduction of new and more advanced procedures that offer patients better, more natural results with less downtime is undoubtedly ought to effect this demand and way we see the aesthetics industry develop within the coming years.
